WHAT KIND OF TREE IS THIS?

I've been meaning to post this picture of a tree that was in Estes Park, CO for a while now but kept forgetting. I'm not sure what kind of a tree it is. I found it interesting to say the least. It's got pine needles and pine cones but the bark is like an Aspen or a Birch tree. Not sure which. Does anybody know what it may be? (Maybe a forester will read my post and know what the answer is).

Sometime In The Past,.........

I thought this picture was cool. Dave was on an assignment with his job last January in a small town in Utah County at the south end of Utah Lake. He saw this old Sinclair garage with gas pump and took a picture of it. I love the wooden doors even tho' what was windows are boarded up. Love the pump too! (Where's Dino?) I thought some of you out there might find it interesting.
